Client: The Stepping Stones School Project: Bespoke School Size: 700 sq metres Project Timeframe: 16 weeks Requirement: After monitoring the success of the Saplings School, another special needs school was proposed for this region. In 2005, Fewer, Harrington & Associates were appointed architects to the project & immediately looked to expedite the building process.

Solution:

Because of their experience in this field, Roan Building Systems received an initial enquiry from the architects and were asked to undertake preliminary design work on the specification & layout of the building.

The contract then went to public tender, which Roan Building Systems duly won, & a RoanPlan Modular Building was chosen for the new state-of-the-art school. As with the Sapling School this would be a purpose-designed facility catering for children with Autism, to include a reception, classrooms, resource rooms, dining & toilet facilities.

The internal fit-out included mechanical & electrical, telephone & data systems, suspended ceilings, fire and intruder alarms, fully fitted kitchen, decoration & floor covering. As with the Saplings School, Roan Building Systems was entrusted with providing all civil works including foundations, landscaping, new water & waste treatment facilities and the provision of parking spaces & driveway.
