Requirement:
General contracting company John Sisk &
Son Ltd, was awarded the contract to construct
this new Stadium in November 2007.
The stadium which is due for completion in early
2010 will have an all-seated capacity of 50,000
and will |
consist of a continuous curvilinear shaped stand enclosing
all four sides of the ground. Such a complicated project
requires a high level of on-site management, administration,
technical & design staff.
Roan Building Systems have a strong relationship with
Sisk having supplied buildings to them for over 25 years
& once again Sisk entrusted Roan Building Systems
to deliver the required accommodation.
Solution:
Because of the tight nature of both timeframe &
site, Roan Building Systems suggested the use of a series
of 9m x 3m Jackleg Kabins. Within one week of receiving
the official order, Roan Building Systems was able to
deliver 7no 9m x 3m Canteens & 7no Drying Rooms.
Roan Building Systems was also able to provide scaffold
platform walkways & stairs from fellow Siteserv
Plc subsidiary Donohue Scaffolding to access the first
floor drying room units. Canteens were equipped with
sink unit’s c/w hot & cold water supplies
while each drying room was fitted with bench seating,
high level heating & coat hooks.
The second phase of the contract was for the supply
of the main site project office complex. Again Roan
Building Systems opted to use 9m x 3m Jackleg Kabins
which were stacked three storeys high with fully enclosed
link & stair access to all floors. Individual jackleg
units were fitted out as offices, meeting rooms, canteen,
first aid & toilets/ showers. Access to all floors
was provided via a steel staircase & our unique
modular steel platform linking system which allowed
the complex to be totally enclosed.
Despite the tight project timeframe, Sisk were able
to occupy all buildings in advance of the proposed 10
week timeframe.
