From Portable Decontamination Showers & Emergency Hospital Wards to Modular Operating Theatres & Emergency Showers!

With Accident & Emergency waiting times reaching crisis point. The Hospital proposed the Nightingale Ward to help alleviate the backlog. Also included were: portable decontamination showers, portable emergency showers.

The Hospital soon commissioned leading architects, RKD, and the search began to find the perfect supplier.

Roan Building Systems were awarded the design & build contract for the construction of six single bedroom ICU/ HDU’s, Ancillary Accommodation & Support Facilities. As main contractor Roan Building Systems were also responsible for PSCS & PSDP.

This complex project was phased over four stages to minimize disruption to critical hospital areas.

The Category 3 Laboratory formed part of the Hospital’s ongoing development programme & by late summer 2006, Our Lady's Hospital were searching for a supplier to help expedite the project.

Roan Building Systems were awarded the design & build contract for the construction of the new Laboratory, an Off-site constructed Category 3 Laboratory.

Additional ward space was required to relieve the pressure on the existing Accident & Emergency Department. Beaumont proposed a transit lounge/ ward to cater for the overflow.

The Hospital appointed leading healthcare architects, Moloney O’Beirne, and began design work on the new ward.

A Day Clinic to provide patients & their families with a place to congregate during their stay in the hospital.

Roan Building Systems was awarded the contract after a public tender. The 250 sq metre building would have two large link corridors & stone rendered external cladding matching that of the main hospital.
