Client: Community Enterprise Centre Project: Enterprise Centre Size: 1,900 sq metres Project Timeframe: 28 weeks Requirement: Following the success of the Trim Community Childcare Centre for Trim TIDE, Roan Building Systems was awarded the contract to construct a new Community Enterprise Centre. The aim of the new centre is to improve the quality of life for people through providing easy access to training and information.

Solution:

As with the Childcare Centre, this new facility was initially to be of conventional build. Having witnessed the success of Off-Site Construction in the first project in terms of expedited programme timeframe & reduced costs; Pat Shanley & Associates opted to utilize these methods again. Once appointed, Roan Building Systems began streamlining the original plans to suit modular design.

This mixed use centre would provide the local community with essential services including:

- Training Rooms
- Citizen’s Information Centre
- Disability Nurse Facility
- Incubator Units for local start up business
- Social Inclusion & Substance Misuse Counselling Services
- Clinic
- Psychology Room
- Rest & Relaxation Rooms
- Social Work Centre
- Catering Kitchen & Canteen

The Centre would also be completely wheel-chair accessible with ramps to all external doors & a lift to the first floor. Internal fit-out included 50mm gyproc screed floors complete with underfloor heating systems to ground & first floor levels, air-conditioning, suspended ceilings, lift, telephone & data systems, fully equipped kitchen, custom fitted furniture, folding partitions & CCTV systems.

Externally vertical Kingspan micro-rib wall panelling is complemented by large architectural glazing to give the building an attractive modern look. These generous glazed areas combined with large roof lights to both central corridors ensuring all areas of the centre are afforded ample levels of natural light.

Roan Building Systems was also responsible for the overall development of the site including:
- Reduced level & cart away
- Civil works & foundations
- Installation of a bio-flow system
- Car-parks
- Paths & access ramps
- Perimeter fencing & lighting
- Landscaping

As with the adjacent Childcare Building, Roan Building Systems completed the new Enterprise Centre on time & to budget, as promised.
