Emergency Ward |

Requirement:
With Accident & Emergency waiting times
reaching crisis point. The Hospital proposed
the Nightingale Ward to help alleviate the backlog.
The Hospital soon commissioned leading architects,
RKD, and the search began to find the perfect
supplier.
|
Solution:
After a rigorous tender process, the state-of-the-art
RoanPlan Modular Building from Roan Building Systems
was selected to house the new 41 Bed Transition Lounge.
This new ward would be annexed to the current Accident
& Emergency Department, which links to the main
hospital street.
As main contractor, Roan Building Systems were also
responsible for PSCS & PSDP.Infection control
is a critical issue when working in a live hospital
environment, all site personnel were required to adhere
to Roan Building Systems strict infection control
policy.
The new 800sq mtr ward was constructed off-site &
craned into position. The lift & installation
was completed in one day & was clad to blend in
seamlessly with the main hospital. As infection control
measure the link between the new department &
the main Intensive Care Ward corridor was not broken
through until the modular building was complete.

the onsite construction element
